Part 8 - Miriam's Point of View
While I was explaining what I’ve read in that book, Nymphadora and Madam Pomfrey listened carefully.
Nymphadora was confused… and I was feeling guilty.
Me: Oh Dora, I’m so sorry!! It’s my fault.
Nymphadora: No, it’s ok, you didn’t know it either. I guess this would happen again in the future.
Me: What do you mean?
Nymphadora: First, if I don’t wake up and Fred & George decide to do it again… and, if it rains. That’ll be cold water… and if you’re by my side, this would happen again.
Me: Don’t worry. We’ll be prudent.
Madam Pomfrey said that Nymphadora had to stay in the Hospital Wing during three days. Hermione promised that we would get the lessons for her. Then, I remembered about the Quidditch tests.
Me: By the way, Professor Hooch said that the tests for the Quidditch team are tomorrow…
Nymphadora: Oh no!! I’ll miss it!!
She told us that she likes Quidditch a lot and that she was a beater in Beaubatons. That’s really great!
Then, Oliver Wood, the Quidditch captain, arrived. Harry seemed really sad and angry when Oliver said that he wanted to talk with Nymphadora in private…
When we left the Hospital Wing, the twins arrived.
Fred: Hello guys! We heard that Nymphadora fainted…
George: And we’ve come to visit her…
I heard Harry telling Fred that Oliver was with Nymphadora.
George: Is Nymphadora alright now?
Hermione: Yes, she is…
Me: It’s all your fault! I didn’t know that I could hurt her…
George: What are you talking about? We were just joking…
Me: You are always joking! You have no sense of responsibility!!!
And I left, running. I heard footsteps. Someone was running after me.
Someone: Mimi! Stop…
I didn’t want to stop… but I stopped. I sat on a rock.
Me: Why? What do you want?
Ron: I wanted you to know that you shouldn’t be so nervous… everything is alright now… Nymphadora is ok. And my brothers didn’t know that you’re a fairy’s granddaughter or that metamorphics are allergic to fairies… you didn’t know that too!
Me: That’s true… but I am so worried… Nymphadora is my friend and I can’t be near her…
Ron: Well, only when it rains! And when that happens, we stay inside the castle, except when we have a Quidditch match… By the way, will you go to the tests tomorrow?
Me: Oh… I don’t know…
Ron: You have to go! You were a chaser!!!
Me: A terrible chaser…
Ron: Ah! I don’t believe you! I’ll take you to the tests tomorrow.
Me: Alright, I’ll go. You won! But Nymphadora wanted to go too…
Ron: We’ll find a way to bring her with us!
Me: That’s cool! What was that sound?
Ron: I think it was my stomach… It’s lunch time!
Me: Yes, it is! Let’s go to the Great Hall!!!
Ron: Humm… how about a race?
Me: Alright!!!
So, we started to run towards the Great Hall. It was funny!
Me: Ah! I won!
Ron: No, you didn’t! I won!
Me: Looser!!!
Ron: Ah! I’ll show you who is the looser… *and he started to tickle me*
I was laughing so much! I couldn’t breathe!
Me: Ok, ok! *laughing* Stop! I admit! You won!
Then, Hermione came.
Hermione: Where have you been?
Me: Outside the castle, talking.
Hermione: Yeah… right…
I was confused… Why didn’t she believe me?
Hermione: Well, we were waiting for you to start our lunch.
Me: Thanks! Where is Harry?
Hermione: He’s talking with Nymphadora…
Then, I saw Fred and George coming. I walked towards them.
Me: Fred! George! I want to…
Fred: What do you think George? Should we listen to a person who thinks that we have no sense of responsibility?
George: Humm… I don’t know…
I was nearly crying.
Fred: Hey! Don’t be silly, Mimi! We were kidding!
George: We will always listen to you!
Me: Thanks guys! I just want to say that I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have said those things…
Fred: It’s ok…
They gave me a big hug. It’s so good to have friends!!!
Our lunch was almost finished when Harry came.
Me: Harry… what happened?
Harry: Nothing…
Me: Alright…
I saw Oliver in a corner of Gryffindor’s table. He seemed to be thinking about something…
Me: Hermione, our next class is Potions, isn’t it?
Hermione: Yes, it is.
Me: Do we have time to go to the library before?
Hermione: Yes, we do.
Me: Great!!!
After we finished our lunch, me and Hermione went to the library. The others went to the Hospital Wing to be with Nymphadora.
More or less an hour later, me and Hermione were reading a wonderful book about magical creatures.
Hermione: This book is amazing!
Me: Yes, it is!!! Humm… Hermione… what time is it?
Hermione: Oh no! It’s 15:05… we are five minutes late to our Potions class…
Me: Oh no!!! We have to run!
So, we put the book back on a bookcase and ran towards the dungeons.
When we opened the door, Professor Snape seemed really angry…
Professor Snape: Humm… it seems that Miss Granger and Miss Evelyn don’t like my noble dungeon…
Me: We’re sorry, sir. We just…
Professor Snape: Shut up! I’ll make you two some questions…
All of our mates were looking at us.
Professor Snape: First question is to Miss Granger: What would happen if you were bitten by a werewolf?
Hermione: I’d turn into one too…
Professor Snape: That’s not the answer I wanted! Want to try… Miss Evelyn?
Me: Yes, sir. If I were bitten by a werewolf I would turn into one, but that doesn’t matter for a Potions class. The answer you want is that I’d have to make a potion to attenuate the transformation.
Professor Snape seemed impressed.
Professor Snape: Yes… that’s correct… Miss Evelyn… I’ll make you another question: How long would it take to make a Polijuice Potion? How many time do you have before the effect disappears? What’s the special ingredient?
Me: It takes a month to be completely ready. I’d have exactly one hour. The special ingredient is a hair from the person which you’d like to turn into. I said a person; because you mustn’t use hair of animals… the effect would be a disaster!
Professor Snape: I’m… I’m… I’m impressed, Miss Evelyn. I give ten points to Gryffindor. And… Miss Granger, I think you have many things to learn with Miss Evelyn. By the way, come here, Draco!
Hermione seemed really upset.
A blonde and pale guy came. He was a Slytherin…
Professor Snape: Miss Evelyn, this is Draco Malfoy. He’s one of the best in this class. I want you to make your potions with him. You’ll work together.
Me: Yes, sir.
Draco’s table was in a dark corner of the room. I followed him.
Draco: Hi. Nice to meet you, Evelyn.
Me: You can call me Miriam, if you want…
Draco: Alright. So, do you like Potions?
Me: Yes! I really like it!
Draco: Me too…
We spent the class making a Wigenweld Potion.
I don’t know what happened, but when Draco came near Ron and told him something, Ron dropped something on Draco’s hair, which turned purple…
And I think Hermione was really upset… she didn’t talk to me during all class.
When the class ended, Hermione went to the Hospital Wing. I followed her, but she didn’t see me. She entered in the Hospital Wing and I could hear that se was talking with Nymphadora about me… I didn’t hear what they said. I decided to leave. When I was going to Gryffindor’s Common Room, I met Harry.
Me: Hello Harry!
Harry: Hi! I’m going to visit Nymphadora.
Me: Alright! See you later!
Harry: Bye! Oh, by the way, Ron is waiting for you in the Common Room.
Me: Okay…
I led to the Common Room. When I entered in, I saw Ron in a couch, with many books near him…
Me: Hey! Harry told me that you were waiting for me…
Ron: Oh, yes… I really need your help!
Me: Really? Why?
Ron: I can’t do my Potions homework… I don’t understand it… it’s too complicated!
Me: Relax! And you don’t need all of those books… you only need that one *points to a little green book* Open it at page 124 and read the first paragraph…
Ron: Wow!!! That’s it!!! Now I understand the homework… Thanks a lot!!! You’re an angel! *he hugged me and gave me a kiss on the cheek*
Me: *blushing* Oh… thanks… I just tried to help! *smiling*
And then, Hermione entered in the Common Room.
