Part 23 - Miriam's Point of View

I don’t know how many time I stayed there, unconscious. Then, I felt that I was waking… I opened my eyes slowly and I felt something in my nose.

Me: Humm…
Ron: Hey sweetie… you woke!
Me: Yes… how many time have I been unconscious?
Ron: Only a few minutes… but I was really worried! Your nose was bleeding… I cleaned it with a paper handkerchief.
Me: Thank you very much…
Ron: You’re welcome. Can you walk?
Me: I think so…

So, I tried to get up and I did. I could walk, but my legs were still weak.

Ron: Let me help you…

He was half carrying me and we were walking very slowly.

Me: Where are we going?
Ron: To the Hospital Wing, of course! Madam Pomfrey will take care of you.
Me: I don’t want to go… Harry will scream at me again… I’m so worried about Dora… I just tried to help… it wasn’t my fault… *I was almost crying*
Ron: He won’t scream at you… Let’s go to the Hospital Wing.
Me: Alright… but only because I want to see Dora!
Ron: Fine… But, what happened to you? Why was that stupid necklace shining?
Me: I don’t know… maybe it was a warning… a warning that something bad will happen…
Ron: You know what? I think you should get rid of that necklace…
Me: No!!! No one will steal my necklace from me! No one!

When I said that, I spoke with a strange voice… it seemed that it wasn’t me who was talking… Ron looked scared.

Ron: Wow… that was strange… are you alright?
Me: I think so… I don’t know why I did that… I’m sorry…
Ron: Don’t be…
Me: I suppose you’re right… *I took off my necklace and put it on Ron’s hand* Keep it in a safe place…
Ron: I will… I think it’s better for you if you don’t have it with you.
Me: You must be right. Thank you very much… you care so much about me…
Ron: Of course I do! I love you, silly!

I laughed.

Ron: I like to see you happy… I love the way you laugh!

He gave me a kiss and we entered in the Hospital Wing.
When we entered, I saw Harry. He came towards us and asked me what happened, but I was so upset… I didn’t want to talk to him. I sat on a couch near a little window. I saw Ron talking to Harry. When they finished, I saw Harry coming.

Harry: Miriam?
Me: Yes? Oh, it’s you, what do you want? I supposed you need to pass your nerves ache on someone, just try someone else!
Harry: Hey, I’m sorry about earlier. I know it’s not your fault, but I was thinking that maybe it messed up a bit worse that the fact it was raining and all… anyway, I’m sorry.
Me: It’s okay. You’re upset and tired, I can understand.
Harry: What happened, up there?
Me: Well, I sort of pass out…
Harry: Why?
Me: I don’t know, I fell over the stairs, I felt weak and my necklace was shining…
Harry: It’s weird.
Me: Yes… Harry?
Harry: Yeah?
Me: You should rest, you look tired.
Harry: I’m okay.

I rolled my eyes. Harry was really stubborn… he was tired, but he wouldn’t rest unless he knew that Nymphadora was alright.
Then, Madam Pomfrey came near me.

Madam Pomfrey: Oh dear… what happened to you?
Me: I just fell over the stairs… I fainted, but I’m fine now.
Madam Pomfrey: No, you aren’t! You have to stay here. As soon as we take Nymphadora to St. Mangoust, I’m going to give you a medicine.
Me: Really… I’m fine.
Madam Pomfrey: Don’t be stubborn! I’m going to see how Nymphadora is. Talk to you later, Miss.
Me: Alright…

She left me and entered in those wooden doors. Nymphadora was there. I wanted to see her.
Then, Madam Pomfrey came out.

Madam Pomfrey: The ones who want to say their goodbye to Miss Tonks, they can come in, but one by one, quietly.

We turned to Harry. He should be the first to see her.

Me: You can go first, I’ll go last, I want to go with her, don’t forget. I’ll be with her along the way… *sad J*
So, Hermione went in first, then Oliver, then the twins and Ron. They were crying…

Me: How is she?
Ron: Go see her yourself…
Me: Alright…

So, I entered in the room. It was small and a bit dark. Nymphadora was on a bed. She was so white… and very cold too. Even her hair was grey… She had a few scratches. I touched her hand.

Me: Hey my friend… I really hope you are alright… I want you to be ok again. Everyone is so worried about you… please, get better quickly… don’t leave us… we need you! And Harry loves you very much… They’ll take you to St. Mangoust. I know they will take care of you… my mum works there… it must be a nice hospital, but I’ve never been there… well, I’m going to visit you in St. Mangoust… I hope to see you better… bye Dora!

I was crying so much… she was a really great friend and I just couldn’t see her there.
Then, I left the room. Ginny entered.

Ron: Let’s go to the Common Room… we need to rest.
Me: Yes…
Madam Pomfrey: Where are you going, Miss Evelyn? I told you that I have to give you a medicine… *she had a bottle with a light green liquid in her hands* Here it is… *she put a little bit of it in a glass*. Drink this. You’ll feel better.
Me: Alright…

Wow… it had a horrible taste!!! I must have made a funny face, because Ron laughed.

Me: Thanks, Madam Pomfrey. Can I go to my dormitory now?
Madam Pomfrey: Yes, but you have to rest!
Me: Alright… good night…

Harry was sat on a couch, crying. I was going to tell him “Good night”, but Ron stopped me.

Ron: Leave him… my parents must be coming.
Me: Okay… let’s go.

When we left the Hospital Wing, we saw Dumbledore coming with a man and a woman. Their hair was red as Ron’s and they seemed nice.

Me: Are they…
Ron: My parents, yes. Come on, I want you to meet them.
Me: Oh… I don’t think that’s a good idea… I mean, look at me. I’m horrible! They can see by my eyes that I’ve been crying and I have blood in my shirt… What will they think?
Ron: They will think that you are lovely!
Me: Oh… alright…

And we walked towards them. Fred and George were talking to them. I saw Fred smiling when we arrived…

Mrs. Weasley: And this lovely lady must be…
Fred: The famous Pink Mimi!
Me: Hi… I’m Miriam Evelyn. *I smiled*
Mrs. Weasley: I’m Molly Weasley. Nice to meet you, dear.
Me: Thank you, Mrs. Weasley.
Ron: Me and Mimi… we are… *he was blushed*
Mr. Weasley: We know. Fred and George told us everything. We are happy for you!

Me and Ron smiled and held hands. His parents smiled. They were really nice people.

Dumbledore: It’s good to know that something good is happening in such a sad moment… Congratulations!
Me & Ron: Thanks, sir.
Dumbledore: Well, now we have to go. We’re going to take Miss Tonks to St. Mangoust. Good night.

We told them good night and went to the Common Room. Fred and George came with us. If it was a normal situation, they’d be laughing, joking or singing some funny song about me and Ron… but we were so sad and worried about Nymphadora that we didn’t want to say anything.
We entered in the Common Room, in silence, and sat on a couch near the fireplace. Hermione was there too. I was watching the fire… so shining… like my necklace…

Hermione: Well, I’m going to the Hospital Wing. I’m going to give Harry some clean clothes for him and Dora.
Me: Do you want some help?
Hermione: No, thank you, Mimi. You need to rest. See you later!
Me: Bye!

And then she left us.

Fred: Well, I’m going to bed. See you tomorrow!
George: I’m going too. Good night!
Me & Ron: Good night!

And they went upstairs. Now, it was just me and Ron in the Common Room.
Me: Do you think that we can go to St. Mangoust too? To visit her?
Ron: I don’t know… I think so…
Me: I hope so… Well, I’m going to bed… I’m tired…
Ron: Oh…
Me: Do you want me to stay here?
Ron: Actually, yes…
Me: Alright. I stay.

Ron hugged me and we kissed. Then, we fell asleep.

I heard some noise in the Common Room, and then I woke up. I saw Ron’s face in front of mine. He was woken too.

Ron: Good morning, sleepy-head!!! It’s late, you know?
Me: Really? Oh… I slept really well!
Ron: Me too. Here… I brought you some toasts with lots of butter and a glass of pumpkin juice, just the way you like.
Me: Oh… thank you very much!

We kissed and I ate my delicious breakfast really fast. I wanted to know news about Nymphadora. When I finished, I asked:

Me: Ron? Where are the others?
Ron: Fred and George are still sleeping and Hermione went to ask Professor McGonagall if we could go to St. Mangoust to visit Dora.
Me: Alright…

Then, Hermione arrived, looking disappointed.

Hermione: Good morning… well, unfortunately, Professor McGonagall isn’t here. She went to St. Mangoust to know what’s happening. Professor Dumbledore is there too. I think we have to ask Professor Snape…
Me: I can ask him, if you want…
Hermione: Great! Do that, please!
Me: Alright… I’m going to change my clothes and then I’ll ask him.

So, I went upstairs, to my dormitory. I put my favourite jeans and a pink and yellow shirt. Then, I went downstairs.

Me: Does anyone want to go with me?
Ron: I do…
Hermione: I’m going too.

And we went towards Snape’s office.
I knocked the door.

Snape: Who’s there?
Me: It’s Miriam Evelyn…
Snape: Oh… Miss Evelyn! Come on in!
Me: Thank you, sir.

So, I entered in his office. Hermione and Ron waited outside.

Snape: So… why are you here, Miss Evelyn?
Me: Well, as you may know, my friend Nymphadora Tonks was attacked yesterday and she is in a deep coma. She was taken to St. Mangoust and I’m here to ask your permission to go there, to visit her.
Snape: Humm… I see your point… but the answer is no. I’m sorry, Miss Evelyn, but you can’t go. There are too many people who are there: Dumbledore, McGonagall, Arthur and Molly Weasley and even Harry Potter… I think he’s her boyfriend…
Me: Yes…
Snape: Well, I’m really sorry. Draco Malfoy is doing his potions homework. Why don’t you help him?
Me: Well, thank you, sir. Bye!
Snape: Good bye, Miss Evelyn!

And I left his office.

Ron: We heard him… he said no…
Hermione: Oh… I really don’t like Snape!
Me: Wait! We can go… I have a plan… but it’s dangerous if we get caught…
Hermione: A plan? Tell us!
Me: No… it’s a bad idea…
Ron: Come on! We want to see Dora!
Me: Alright… we just need Harry’s Invisibility Cloak, his Marauder’s Map and a bit of Floo Powder.
Ron: Humm… I see… but can you explain it better?
Me: It’s simple! We use the Invisibility Cloak and the Marauder’s Map to find the hidden passage which will take us to Diagon-Alley. Once there, we go to the Leaky Cauldron and we ask the barman if we can use his fireplace. They always have some Floo Powder there. Then, we use it to go to St. Mangoust. It’s simple, isn’t it?
Hermione: That’s clever… but why don’t we use the fireplace in Gryffindor’s Common Room?
Me: Because I think there isn’t any Floo Powder. Only teachers have it. Besides, if we use a Hogwarts’ fireplace, we have more chances to be caught.
Hermione: But Professor Dumbledore will see us at the hospital…
Ron: I know… but I’m sure he’ll understand our situation…
Me: Exactly…
Ron: You’re brilliant, Miriam!
Hermione: Alright… Let’s do it!
